The Bangsamoro newly appointed Senior Minister is ready to take on his new role and vowed to do his best to serve the Bangsamoro community.
In an interview, newly appointed Senior Minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Abunawas “Von Alhaq” L. Maslamama told the Bangsamoro Information Office (BIO) on Wednesday that he saw this as a big challenge, being his first time to experience this kind of role.
Maslamama replaced former Senior Minister Abdulraof Macacua who was recently appointed Governor-OIC of the province of Maguindanao del Norte.
Maslamama, however, assured the public that he and his team will work hard to fulfill their duties and support the Office of the Chief Minister in promoting Moral Governance.
“Isang malaking challenge ito sa akin sapagkat first time na na-experience ko ito. But I am trying my very best , hopefully, na magampanan ang ating task,” Maslamama said.
The Senior Minister recounted that prior to his official appointment, Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim personally requested him to take on the position, to which he gladly accepted.
On Monday, April 17, following the appointment of Macacua as the OIC Governor of Maguindanao del Norte, the Office of the Chief Minister released Maslamama’s official appointment.
As an advocate of teamwork, Maslamama plans to work closely with his colleagues to ensure effective implementation of programs.
“Hindi ito kaya ng isang tao lamang […] for me, teamwork is very important. That’s the reason why mayroong team. May kanya-kanyang role doon sa direction ng ating government,” Maslamama said.
“Titignan natin at pag-aralan ang takbo ng opisina. I will invite my co-employeess/workers with me so that we can tackle and discuss and implement productively kung ano ang programa ng ating Chief Minister,” he added.
As one of the executive officials of BARMM, Senior Minister Maslamama committed to continue to uphold the Government of the Day’s Moral Governance.
“Rest assured that lahat ng program ng Office of the Chief Minister tungo doon sa Moral Governance, we fully support that,” the Senior Minister said.
Before his recent appointment, Maslamama held positions as the Deputy Minister of both the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
In addition, he currently serves as the spokesperson of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) – Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), as well as co-chair of the Joint Peace and Security Committee (JPSC) for the GPH-MILF.
