Tawi-Tawi officials, BTA land at KK

TAWI-TAWI – Taking the lead in advancing the economy of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the provincial government of Tawi-Tawi sent recently a delegation to Kota Kinabalu for a series of trade, tourism, and investment exchanges toward mutual economic and social development with neighboring Malaysia.

Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) President Datuk Frankie Liew and Deputy President Brett Chua led the welcoming party as 12 contingents from Tawi-Tawi Provincial Government and the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament took off from Manila to further the economic engagements between Tawi-Tawi and Sabah.

The delegation was headed by Governor Yshmael “Mang” I. Sali and carried the slogan “Tawi-Tawi to the World.”

SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew and Deputy President Brett Chua led the welcoming party as 12 contingents from Tawi-Tawi Provincial Government and the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament took off from Manila to further the economic engagements between Tawi-Tawi and Sabah.

Together with Gov. Mang are BTA Deputy Speaker MP Ben Loong, BTA MP Atty. Jet Lim, Board Members Sabuddin Abdurahim and Dr. Sukarno Asri, Mayor Mohammad Faizal Jamalul of Turtle Islands, Tawi-Tawi Ministry of Trade Investment and Tourism Provincial Director Termizie Masahud, BIMP-EAGA BARMM Director Popoy Lauddin, Provincial Economic Adviser Sulay Halipa, and Mr. Samilee Pianah.

The visit is a follow-through of the Investment and Economic Tour in October 2021; and a declaration of strengthening ties with the Sabah business sector as Tawi-Tawi takes the lead in advancing the economy of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. (With story from Taw-Tawi LGU)
