TUBOD, Lanao del Norte: Governor Imelda Quibranza Dimaporo has given her assurance that her home province Lanao del Norte is fully supportive of the government’s campaign against terrorism and lawlessness.
The assurance was given by Gov. Dimaporo to Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) chief Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr. during his visit to the Lanao del Norte Provincial Capitol here on Monday morning, Jan. 31.
The WestMinCom commander was accompanied by Joint Task Force ZamPeLan Commander Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio; 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Rey Alemania; 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade Deputy Commander Col. Charlie Magne Batayola; and 5th Mechanized Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer Col. Julius Librada.
Gov. Dimaporo thanked Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. for taking time to visit and check on the situation of the province and reiterated the people of Lanao del Norte’s oneness with the government in the campaign against terrorism and lawlessness.
Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. commended the outstanding leadership of Gov, Dimaporo. “You are an epitome of an empowered woman and we appreciate your unwavering support to the armed forces. Truly, together we are stronger.”
The two also discussed the best practices that will be implemented in the province during the National and Local Elections 2022.
“We will deploy more troops to ensure the safety and security of all during the election period. Rest assured that we will work doubly to sustain the peace in the province,” Lt. Gen. Rosario, Jr. added.
Lanao del Norte is a rugged province in the southwestern section of Northern Mindanao that ranges from the coastal shorelines in the north to the high plateaus and mountains in the south. It comprises 22 municipalities and one highly urbanized city. JULMUNIR I. JANNARAL/Philippine Muslim Today
