
ILIGAN CITY, Lanao del Norte – Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) has formed a united Christian and Muslim political opposition alliance in Lanao del Norte and fielded common candidates for provincial and municipal elective positions for the 2022 national elections, according to the office of the PFP provincial chairman for Lanao del Norte.

Mike Mulituba, representative and spokesperson of Lacson Lantud, the Lanao del Norte provincial head, told reporters the PFP official candidates led by Sultan Amer Nagamura T. Moner, Sr. have already filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) since October 7, 2021.
Mulituba said the PFP provincial leadership has assured of his all-out support to the party candidates. “Chairman Lantud,” he said, “has already received assurances from his colleagues in the party of their unwavering support for their candidates to win.”
Sultan Moner, a former judge and academician, said he was reluctant at first to accept the party offer to be the provincial gubernatorial candidate.

But when I realize the need for true change in the political scenario, for the sake of our people, I have to accept it,” he added.
Moner, also a Maranao civic leader, hails from the municipalities of Munai, Kauswagan and Bacolod in Lanao del Norte; and Bayang and Piagapo in Lanao del Sur.
