Lanao Sur fetes 62nd founding anniversary

COTABATO CITY – The provincial government of Lanao del Sur is currently celebrating the 62 founding anniversary of the province for almost the whole current month, starting on July 5 with various commemorative events.

Gov. Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto-Adiong Jr. texted to the Philippine Muslim Today news the following dates and the corresponding festive activities:   

July 5 – Turnover of PPEs, Medicines and Vitamins from the Office of Vice President Leni Gerona Robredo for Lanao del Sur Public Hospitals and Medical Frontliners;

July 6 – Groundbreaking of the implementation of the rehabilitation and construction of the Potable Water Supply for Marawi City and Adjacent Municipalities ⁃ Heads of Offices Meeting at the Provincial Jail Compound;

July 7 – Distribution of gallons of rubbing alcohol as well as fruits and vegetables seeds from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist to the Persons Deprived of Liberty of the Provincial Jail- Lanao Del Sur for their mini farms inside the Compound;

July 8 – Distribution of garbage segregation bins by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), headed by PM Papandayan, to the different offices of the Provincial Capitol as part of their program on Ecological Solid Waste Management;

July 13 – Ribbon-cutting ceremonies of the Concreting of the Campo Ranao 103rd Brigade Access Road and the Open Gym, and presentation of firearms surrendered by former Dawlah Islamia members who were also present.

July 14 – LDS Urban Greening Program Tree-Planting Activity in Piagapo, Lanao del Sur;

July 15 – Lanao del Sur LGUs Pre-Summit Workshop for Identification of Priority Projects for Submission to BARMM in Iligan City;

July 29 – Proposed State of the Province Address of Governor Adiong ⁃ Culmination and Recognition Program for Frontliners in Lanao del Sur; and

July 5-30 – Provincial Technology and Livelihood Development Center Offers Free Livelihood and Skills Trainings on Basic Dress Making (blouse and slacks terno) Basic Curtain Making Basic Cooking of local foods and sweets Baor Making (wood carving and shell in-lay) Mat Weaving Langkit Weaving Mamandiang Making 4th Week of July Oil Painting Contest for 18-30 years old Photography Contest for 18-30 years old Trade Fair.

In an intervening event on Wednesday, the office of Gov. Adiong posted on Facebook a news report with photos about the settlement of a 23-year feud between the Dalma Salagaan and Dalma Picong clans in Malabang town.

The governor was joined in the solemn event by Congressman Yasser Balindong, 1st Marine Brigade chief Brig. Gen. Jonas Lumawag, Marine Battalion Landing Team 5 head Lt. Col. Tino Maslan, Provincial Police Director Col. Rex Derillo, Mayors Sultan Usman Sarangani and Alinader Balindong, and Board Members Allan Panolong, Abdulhamid Amerbitor, Caoden Marohombsar, Amiroden Balindong, former BM Tanjie Macapodi, and other local leaders.
