BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi: Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Member of the Parliament (MP) Eddie Alih held a successful relief operation in this province recently, as part of his commitment to serve the constituents in the midst of the Covid-19 global pandemic.

Alih, who was a former chancellor of the Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO), said they conducted the five-day relief operation at the MSU-TCTO Preparatory High School Compound in this municipality from May 6-10, participated by various sectors of the province.
“We did this on purpose to extend aid to our needy constituents here,” Alih said.
Alih said different sectors from the municipalities of Bongao, South Ubian, Sapa-Sapa and Sibutu received sacks of rice distributed by his office, as part of the rice allocation for the MPs from the Bangsamoro regional government.
The former MSU-TCTO chancellor gave the breakdown of his rice assistance per sector: Bongao – MSU-TCTO – 75 sacks, Couples for Christ – 50, MSU TCTO Coed Faculty – 22, Modern Passenger Terminal Building (MPTB) – 5, Bangsamoro Professionals Tawi-Tawi – 12, Bangsamoro Free Election Movement (BFEM)/ 1 Tawi-Tawi – 15, MSU Office of the Registrar – 11, Palace Awwal Indigents – 13, and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Political Committee – 55; South Ubian – Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces – MILF 5th Brigade Command Inner Guard – 10, and MILF Political Committee– 102; Sapa-Sapa – Bangsamoro Professionals Tawi-Tawi – 5; and Sibutu – MILF Political Committee – 25.
Dr. Mary Joyce Guinto-Sali, incumbent chancellor of MSU-TCTO expressed her gratefulness to MP Alih and the BARMM government in general for this generous donation.
“It really means a lot to all of us here most especially to our various frontliners and the stranded students here in the university. This is such a big help. Thank you so much,” Sali said.
